Since school began, the students in B5 have been learning it is not only okay to FAIL, it is expected!  FAIL means Frequent Attempts In Learning.  We have learned that we must FAIL to be successful.  Recently, we participated in the 5-Day Growth Mindset Challenge for Children sponsored by Big Life Journal.  Students in Room B5 added DAY 6 by creating a bulletin board, and then DAY 7 by making a short video of Growth Mindset Statements.

A Fixed Mindset will say, "I can't do this."  A Growth Mindset says, "I can't do this YET."  Other examples:

Fixed: "I hate making mistakes."   Growth: "Mistakes are okay, they help me learn."

Fixed: "I give up."     Growth:  "This is really hard, but I can try a new strategy."
Students face challenges with a positive "I can do this" attitude.  They encourage one another and are extremely empathetic to anyone who is struggling.  The power of positive thinking is alive and well in B5.
